About Screencake
A long time
coming.
Hi, I’m Jordan, the person behind Screencake. That’s me in the photo, looking appropriately surprised that an idea from 2009 has made it all the way to this page.

Back at it
Back in 2009, I started working on Screencake and built the first version. I made a demo to show it off. You can still watch the original demo on Vimeo. It’s a little time capsule from where this all began.
Fast-forward to 2026. I’ve finally decided to get off my butt, sit down, and get it done.
Seventeen years later, I’m giving it the attention it needs.
Today, Screencake runs on macOS, Windows, Linux, and the web. It combines the script editor with tools for storyboards, shooting schedules, and call sheets.
Maybe you’re starting with a character, a scene, or an ending you haven’t figured out how to reach. Move beats around, find the shape of your story, and start writing. Bring in collaborators when you’re ready for another pair of eyes. Hear your dialogue in a table read and discover what needs another pass.
When you’re ready to plan a shoot, storyboard the scenes, break down the script, build a shooting schedule, and prepare call sheets. The screenplay stays at the center as you work out how to make it happen.
Start with an idea or bring a draft. If you have questions or ideas, I’d like to hear them.
I hope you like it.
Jordan Humphreys
