Tag and report production items

Tag props, cast, wardrobe, and other production items in the script. Screencake includes the tagged items in reports.

Tagging Link to Tagging#

Select the text. Open the tag menu in the toolbar and select a category. Tags stay with the text through edits. Producers and readers can add tags without changes to script text.

The menu suggests items from scene action and existing tags. For example, after you tag "REVOLVER", other occurrences suggest the same tag. Screencake adds a suggested tag only after you accept it.

Suggest with cloud AI reads the current scene for 1 credit. Suggestions contain only words and two-word phrases from the scene action. Select a suggestion to add its tag.

Seeing the tags Link to Seeing the tags#

Turn on Show breakdown tints to see tagged text in category colors. Click a tinted range to examine or remove its tag. Tints do not print or export.

Hidden tints do not remove tags.

Pictures Link to Pictures#

Open the Breakdown tab in the Production report. Select Add picture, Replace picture, or Remove. Use JPEG, PNG, or WebP files of 10MB or less. Each script has a shared 200MB image limit.

Each item has one picture across all scenes. If you remove the last tag for an item, you also remove its picture. Encrypted scripts do not store item pictures on the server.

Generating a picture Link to Generating a picture#

In Report → Breakdown, select Generate with AI beside an item. Describe how it should look, select a style, and select Draft or Final quality. Final costs 60 workspace credits. Draft costs 30.

The request includes the item name, category, description, and selected style. To send the request, select Generate. Examine the preview. Select Use picture to attach it, or Replace picture to replace the current picture. Until you accept a replacement, the current picture stays in place.

Generated pictures have an AI generated label. To report inappropriate output, select Report on the preview or beside a saved picture. Cloud AI can use saved pictures as references for storyboard frames with that item.

You must have editing access and Cloud AI enabled in Account. Your workspace must permit it and have sufficient credits. Generation is unavailable in Local Mode and encrypted scripts.

The prop report Link to The prop report#

The Breakdown tab groups items by name and category, with scene references and counts such as "revolver · Sc. 1, 4, 9 · ×3".

  • Filter by category and download a CSV for your department.
  • Select Breakdown sheets (PDF) for one page per scene, with heading, length, story day, and categories.
  • Export all scenes or the scenes selected on the Scenes tab.
See each tagged item's scenes and count in one report.

Element profiles Link to Element profiles#

An element profile records the production facts for one tagged item. One profile covers all the tags with the same category and name.

To edit a profile, open the Breakdown tab and select "Details" on the item's row. The profile has these fields:

  • Description and notes.
  • Status: "Needed", "Sourced", "On hand", or "Wrapped".
  • Quantity, from 1 to 9999.
  • Source: the vendor, the rental house, or "owned".
  • Cost, in the currency of the script's budget.
  • Owner: one member of the crew.

Screencake saves each field when you leave it. The profile is stored in the script and is shared with everyone on it.

The profile appears on these surfaces:

  • The Breakdown tab shows the status and the quantity next to the item's name.
  • Breakdown sheets (PDF) and the call sheet print the quantity and the status after the item's name. The call sheet also prints the owner.
  • The CSV and .xlsx downloads add the columns status, quantity, source, cost, owner, and description.
  • The API breakdown rows include the profile fields.
