Slack notifications

Send workspace updates to a Slack channel. Select the applicable topics. Available on each paid plan.

For other services, use the API and webhooks. Webhooks send workspace events to a URL you control.

Notification topics Link to Notification topics#

  • Comments and @mentions. Comments and replies in one message per script every two minutes. Each message identifies participants and includes a script link.
  • Call sheets. Delivery status, crew views, confirmations, and totals.
  • Scripts. Who created, renamed, archived, or restored a script.

On an encrypted script Slack shows who commented and where, but never the comment text.

Connect a channel Link to Connect a channel#

  1. As a workspace owner or admin, open Workspace › Slack.
  2. Select Add to Slack and pick a channel.
  3. In Screencake, enable the applicable topics.

Screencake asks only for permission to post to that channel.

To change channels, select Add to Slack again. Your topic choices stay the same. Each workspace connects to one channel.

Turn off individual topics on the Slack page, or select Disconnect to stop all updates.

If you remove the app in Slack, delivery stops. After the next message attempt, Screencake shows Reconnect on the Slack page.

  • the names of the people acting
  • script, production and shoot-day titles
  • comment text, up to 140 characters
  • links back to screencake.com

Script pages are never included. Encrypted-script updates leave out comment text. Messages go only to your chosen channel.
